Внутренняя экономия на масштабах
Сокращение средних издержек производства фирмы по мере роста ее производства. Особое внимание уделяется экономии за счет более полного и эффективного использования всех внутренних ресурсов фирмы с целью снижения издержек производства на единицу продукции. Кроме того, более крупное производство способствует углублению специализации. Компания может также добиться экономии в маркетинговой, управленческой и финансовой сферах. Внешний эффект роста масштабов производства
Влияние производственной деятельности одной фирмы на деятельность других фирм, работающих в данной отрасли, что приводит к снижению долгосрочных средних издержек производства всех фирм. Например, если городское учебное заведение подготовит большое количество специалистов в какой-либо области, способных удовлетворить местные потребности, тогда каждая фирма в регионе сможет нанять на работу квалифицированную рабочую силу, что приведет к сокращению ее собственных (внутренних) издержек на подготовку специалистов.
